- Agriculture DX Seminar: Solving Agricultural Issues in Developing Countries Through the Promotion of Agriculture DX
- 2. Purpose of the Event
- The evolution of digital technology is bringing various impacts and transformations not only to administration and business but also to people’s lives and society as a whole. Among these, the advancement of Digital Transformation in agriculture (Agriculture DX) is expected to play a significant role in solving the following important issues:
1) IoT Innovation: The IoT-oriented Wi-Fi standard “802.11ah,” which enables faster transmission than LPWA, was launched for domestic use in 2022. Because it enables long-distance, high-speed transmission, it has become possible to send not only sensor data from fields but also video data of crops, which was not possible before, to remote locations.
2) Improving Profits in Agricultural Management: Farmers are working daily to improve profits in agricultural management by monitoring weather conditions and improving fertilizer and pesticide inputs and efficient operations. Agriculture DX supports solving problems by collecting and visualizing various data.
3) Visualization of Cultivation Activities: If cultivation activity data can be acquired without placing a burden on farmers, it will be possible to review farm work and share best practices among farmers. Agriculture DX meets these needs.
At this lecture meeting, lecturers from private companies will give lectures on various Agriculture DX initiatives and the latest trends. JTEC will also introduce its Agriculture DX initiatives in Indonesia and Nepal, providing an opportunity to consider the ideal form of Agriculture DX in developing countries and overseas development in the agricultural field.
This lecture meeting will be held as an Information and Communications Month participation event this year.
