Elpixel Begins Demonstration Experiment of Image Diagnostic Support AI “EIRL” at Hanoi Post Office Hospital in Vietnam
Elpixel, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tomihisa Kamata; hereinafter “Elpixel”) and the Japan Telecommunications Engineering and Consulting Service (Location: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Yasuo Sakamoto; hereinafter “JTEC”) have jointly agreed with VNPT Information Technology Company Limited (Headquarters: Hanoi; hereinafter “VNPT-IT”), a member of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, to begin a demonstration experiment (PoC) of the image diagnostic support AI “EIRL” series at Hanoi Post Office Hospital (Bệnh viện Bưu điện).
In Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, the number of doctors per capita is less than half that of Japan [1]. Regarding the quality of medical services, there is a large disparity between large urban hospitals and small local clinics. This causes patients to concentrate on large urban hospitals, leading to further pressure on medical resources. For example, at one hospital in Hanoi, the radiology department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to accommodate patients who come from rural areas and stay overnight to receive medical examinations. Furthermore, with economic growth and changes in lifestyle, aging and lifestyle-related diseases are becoming national issues, as in developed countries. As “health checkups,” which have not been customary until now, become established, further pressure on medical resources is expected.
Given this background, the need for image diagnostic support AI is higher than in Japan, and its adoption is expected to accelerate. Therefore, in anticipation of the start of sales in Vietnam, the following demonstration experiment will be conducted to verify technical suitability and effectiveness in the diagnostic workflow.
[Overview of the Demonstration Experiment]
In the PoC, the EIRL series products for chest X-ray, chest CT, and brain MRA will be introduced using VNPT-IT’s medical image storage and communication system (cloud PACS) to verify technical suitability and effectiveness in the diagnostic workflow. Based on the verification results, discussions will begin on introduction and dissemination in Vietnam.
●Period: September 23, 2025 to February 28, 2026
●Purpose: Verification of technical suitability in Vietnam, discussions toward commercialization
●Roles:
・Elpixel: Provision of image diagnostic support AI “EIRL” and technical support
・JTEC: Project management, understanding local needs, business plan support
・VNPT-IT: Cloud environment development, PACS integration, coordination with local hospitals

[About Image Diagnostic Support AI Technology]
Along with increasingly sophisticated modalities, the work of medical image diagnosis is constantly increasing. By using proprietary algorithms that utilize AI, we aim to analyze medical image information such as chest X-rays, CT scans, endoscopies, and MRIs, and provide an environment where doctors can perform efficient and accurate diagnoses. The image diagnostic support AI “EIRL” series provided by Elpixel has been introduced in over 1,000 medical facilities in all 47 prefectures in Japan, from university hospitals to clinics, and the total number of analyses has exceeded 12 million (as of the end of June 2025, including trials).
