Under commission from the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), we conducted the “Senior Executive Policy Training Workshop” (Tokyo, April 7-10), sponsored by APT.
The training was attended by executives (director-general level) from ICT ministries in eight countries—Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Palau, Sri Lanka, and Thailand—as well as APT Secretary-General Masanori Kondo. The program included a courtesy visit to State Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Mr. Adachi, an exchange of views in three sessions (DX, Digital Connectivity, and Trust & Safety), and a sharing of the current status and challenges of each country regarding “AI Utilization/Risks and AI Governance.”
Participants also visited research and development initiatives toward the realization of the IWON (Innovative Optical & Wireless Network) concept, a demonstration field for ICT utilization to solve regional issues, and a cybersecurity operation center.
