In November 2020, JASCA (Japan Association for Smart Cities in ASEAN) and the Nikkei Group Asia-hosted the Japan Indonesia Smart City Forum, which participated in Data Platform for Smart City panel discussion. JTEC joined the panel discussion as a moderator and led the discussion on the data-management infrastructure to create valuable information. Panelists were attended by Jakarta's Smart City Project Promoter, Indonesia's local IT startup company founder, and Japanese telecommunications carriers. Knowledge on the information distribution infrastructure for smart cities was shared from the field's standpoint. Moreover, the importance of open architecture, interconnectivity, modular design, and scalability in the information linkage infrastructure was pointed out. Jakarta stressed the importance of a partnership for administrative data sharing and the importance of collaborative attitudes and enthusiasm on the part of officials who conduct data analysis cross-organizational and take advantage of policy as a basis for digital change.
