APT Training Course on FTTH and Wireless Access Technologies to Support Development of Broadband Network (EBC-J1)
Training Program Successfully Completed
A group of 12 Engineers and Policy Makers attended the APT Training Course on 'FTTH and Wireless Access Technologies to Support Development of Broadband Network. It was conducted at JTEC in Tokyo for a period of 8 days (Dec1- Dec 7, 2011)where the trainees learned about the process of supporting BB network using FTTH and Wireless Access. Participants from 12 APT member countries took part and were successfully completed as planned. The Trainees and the JTEC officers welcomed Mr. Kisione Finau, Director of PacCERT who was visiting Japan on APT Cybersecurity Workshop held in Tokyo.
JICA/ODA Telecommunications Network Development Project of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL)
BTCL, Bangladesh Engineers Arrive
A group of 8 officials from BTCL arrived in Tokyo on Sept.8 on a 10 day training and visit in Japan.
This is in accordance with JICA/ODA loan project of BTCL in Bangladesh. A contract was awarded to JTEC/ISL consortium and the contract was signed in November 2010. The objective of this project is to improve services by refurbishing nationwide telecommunication infrastructure in Bangladesh. This will contribute to the improvement of investment environments for stimulating private sectors. In November 2010, JTEC with ISL International Inc. as a partner of the consortium was awarded the contract from Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) and in December 2010, the consortium started the consulting services in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
