Dr. Yoshio Utsumi (the President of JTEC) was honored with “The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Sacred Treasure” in this year’s state spring decorations award by the Emperor of Japan.

Japanese honors system is to award the orders for people who made significant contribution for state or society. Orders of the Sacred Treasure are awarded for long and significant meritorious service. “The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Sacred Treasure” is the highest.

Dr. Utsumi was appreciated of his official carrier in the Japanese Government and his leadership in world ICT development as the Secretary General of ITU for 8 years (1999-2006).
