●今般、JTECでは、APT* から受託した「ブロードバンド・ネットワーク基盤の発展を支えるFTTHおよびワイアレス・アクセス技術」研修（APT Training Course on FTTH and Wireless Access Technologies to Support theExpansion of Broadband Network Infrastructure）を2013年1月22日から2月1日まで実施しました。
●本研修の目的
わが国は、世界有数のブロードバンド大国であり、高い技術力をバックに急速かつ着実にブロードバンド・ネットワークを整備してきました。
このような背景のもと、参加者にわが国のブロードバンド発展政策や現況、最新の技術動向やブロードバンド普及過程におけるその応用について理解してもらうことにより、研修参加国におけるわが国の経験の応用を含むブロードバンド化推進への貢献をすることを目的としてこの研修を実施しました。
わが国のブロードバンド化の普及・展開の主要方式であるFTTHとモバイルブロードバンド（3G／LTE／WiMAX／WiFi） 等の無線アクセス技術の計画立案者のみならず、ブロードバンド・ネットワーク建設、保守、運用担当者、ブロードバンド・ネットワークを活用したサービスやアプリケーションの提供者までにいたる関係者への実践的な研修コースとして位置づけ、特に今回は、ルーラル地域・離島等へのブロードバンドインフラ整備が充分進んでいない島嶼国を含む途上国にとって重要である無線系アクセス技術について以前の研修に比べ力点を置き実施ました。
また、ブロードバンド・ネットワークを参加国内外に効果的に構築、運用し、サービスやアプリケーションを導入、提供するためには、国際的な技術標準活動が不可欠であるとの観点から、国際的な技術標準化への理解を深めてもらうとともに、技術者・専門家間の国際的、専門的な人的ネットワーク形成も今般の研修の重要な側面と位置づけました。
●本研修には、アフガニスタン、ブータン、中国、マレーシア、モルジブ、ネパール、ソロモン諸島、スリランカ、タイ、ベトナムの10ヶ国の電気通信主管庁、通信事業体、ICT関係機関から10名の職員が参加しました。同研修のカリキュラムは次表のとおりです。
