The aim of the project is to assist the development of rural areas in Myanmar, by introducing ICT utilization in villages. JTEC (Japan) and MCF (Myanmar) cooperate in installing and operating a pilot ICT center, and conduct a joint study about systems, technical capabilities as well as measures for sustainable operation. Thus, they will prepare a proposal for a grand design for future deployment. With the support of Yangon Region Government, “Hpa Yar Ngoke To” village in the region was selected as a pilot project site for installing a model ICT Center.
eVillage project is connected with eYangon project* and eWomen project** which are promoted by Yangon Regional Government. By synergistic effects of those projects, it is expected the digital divide would be more narrowed.
